The Ferrari 458 Italia was first unveiled at the 2009
Frankfurt Motor Show, replacing the F430 and will go down as one of the
greatest supercars to ever wear the prancing horse.
At its heart is a high-revving, mid-mounted, naturally
aspirated 4.5L V8 producing a whopping 570hp that sends power to the rear
wheels via an E-diff and an ultra-quick shifting dual-clutch transmission.
In keeping with a Ferrari tradition kept since 1951, the
body was designed by Pininfarina and the 458 wears this famous design house’s
badge on the rear quarters, but is the last Ferrari to do so as design,
controversially moved in-house.
Over and above mechanical performance, the 458’s exterior design
was optimised for aerodynamic efficiency, producing a downforce figure of 140kg
at 200 km/h. In particular, the front end features deformable winglets that
lower at high speeds reducing drag.
The car's interior, among other elements, was also designed with
input from Ferrari Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher and all of this focus on
design and performance translates into what Chris Harris and Lee Stern from Evo
Magazine called- “razor-sharp responses and wailing soundtrack combined for an
awesome final curtain call of the naturally aspirated high-revving
Maranello-born V8… The 458 continues what must be the finest patch of road-car
form Ferrari has ever enjoyed.” EvoMagazine, 2017.
The car offered here is a MY2012 Ferrari 458 Italia sold new
through Zagame Ferrari, Melbourne ordered in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather and
travelled just 19,968 kilometres benefitting from a full Ferrari service
history.
Released from a private collection and in as new condition;
from the blemish free aluminium Ferrari entry-sill plates to the mirror-like
paint finish all tell-tale signs show just how well maintained this car has
been.
Receiving new factory spec Pirelli P-Zero tyres in 2021 this
car is accompanied by all original log books and owner’s manuals kept in the
leather wallet, Ferrari trickle charger, original Ferrari car cover and both
original keys.
In out of the box, as new and original condition, this
well-kept 458 Italia is a credit to its last owner and an asset to the next,
ready to drive of the showroom floor.
Fast becoming a cult car for so many reasons, after a short
stint behind the wheel of a 458 like this, there’s no wonder why Schumacher
said “this is a big step forward, and what I feel, will be a landmark car.”
